31 Year Playing music, R.E.M Breaking Up

After 31 years of music, an alternative rock band from Georgia, U.S. REM decided to disband.

This was said by R.E.M through their site which aired on September 21 local time. Fronted band Peter Buck, Mike Mills and Michael Stipe was writing the news of their separation in an article titled 'REM CALL IT A DAY 'remhq.com site.

For the fans and our friends: As REM and as a lifelong friend and co-conspirators, we have decided to call this day as a band. We went with gratitude from the end of this and a sense of wonder to all that we have achieved. For anyone who ever felt touched by our music, deepest thanks for listening.

R.E.M stands in 1980 and has released 15 studio albums from 'Murmur' in 1983 to the latest 'Collapse Into The Now' March 7, 2011 last. Throughout his career, they only lost one of drummer Bill Berry personnel who resigned in 1997 due to illness of the brain and become farmers.

Until the late singer hits 'Everybody Hurts', the position he had never been replaced with permanent personnel. REM ever get three trophies at the Grammy Awards 1992. Millions of copies have been sold REM album on fans worldwide.
